Introducing
SHANE WEBCKE

Acknowledged for his outstanding career in Rugby League, Shane Webcke is an author, speaker, and media personality. Shane is also heavily involved in advocating for better workplace place safety and creating adequate support structures for mental health.
Affectionately known as Webby, he has always been the consummate team man. It was during his 12 years at his beloved Brisbane Broncos under his mentor Wayne Bennett that he excelled in a culture that was built around football and family. Throughout this period, he went on to play 24 games for Queensland and 26 Tests for Australia and became the No.1 prop forward of his era. His legacy at the Broncos was secured when he won his fourth premiership in 2006 and was awarded life membership by the club for his valued service to the jersey.
Since retiring from a storied career in rugby league, Shane spends time now as a farmer, family man, businessman, author, news presenter, safety ambassador, guest speaker and TV host. Shane’s taken what he’s learned about commitment and work ethic from the farm as a young man to the football field as a player and into the business world. Despite a busy schedule, Shane balances family life with his wife and three children, whilst also performing his other job in Brisbane, behind the news desk at Seven.
Shane is a highly respected keynote speaker and is extremely passionate about workplace safety, having experienced personal tragedy as a teenager with the passing of his father in a workplace fatality. This has led him to the role as a safety ambassador, where he shares the story of his father’s accident in the hope it will motivate others to put safety first.
He has a unique perspective on workplace culture and ensuring that all businesses put structures in place to create a safe, inclusive, and healthy working environment. His tailored talks are both inspiring and insightful. He enjoys travelling the globe spreading his positive message at conferences, seminars, mine sites and any business that values their staff.
